The inaugural partners meeting of the CST project took place from February 5th to 9th, 2024, in Oulu, Finland. The aim of the CST project is to pioneer innovative rhizomatic learning processes through multimodal storytelling focused on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Additionally, the project seeks to introduce multimodal storytelling on SDGs in Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC), supporting educators and staff to utilize various digital tools and apps for creating digital stories. Through these efforts, the project aims to familiarize both children and ECEC professionals with digital tools and storytelling techniques while promoting awareness and reflection on relevant topics among young students and their parents.
Deutsche Schule Athen, ROKIDS, OULUN KAUPUNKI, KMOP – Education and Innovation Hub, CASA DO PROFESSOR, and SUDWIND joined forces to explore innovative methods of storytelling focused on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) within Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC).
A significant highlight of the meeting was the study visits to key institutions in Oulu, such as Alakööki – Development Unit for Sustainable Development and Cultural Education in Early Education, Hintta Day Care Center, and Heikinharjun Luontokoto. Partners gained invaluable insights into the implementation of STEAM pedagogy in Finnish daycare centers and kindergartens, inspiring them to adapt and apply these practices in their respective countries.
