About the Project

Education has always played a crucial role in making positive changes and is vital for the success of sustainable development. In this context, children are acknowledged as “agents of change”, emphasising the need for Early Childhood Education for Sustainability to create meaningful transformations. Using engaging teaching methods is vital for building a sustainable world. While some countries include sustainability in Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC), many EU countries still need to integrate it into their learning plans.

The Creative Story-Tellers project
The Creative Story-Tellers (CST) project (project number: 2023-1-DE03-KA220-SCH-000153097) aims to use fun activities, especially digital storytelling, to help children learn about important topics like Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These activities involve creative expressions like art to leave a personal mark and reshape children’s perceptions of themselves, the world, and their abilities to engage with it.

Creative Story-Tellers aims to:

Cultivate a deeper understanding of the various aspects of sustainability among educators by introducing them to the concept of education for sustainability in ECEC.

Involve children in multi-modal creative storytelling to boost their creativity, empowerment, and understanding of sustainability.

Encourage curiosity and comprehension of sustainability, global challenges, and the children’s own role through collaborative and creative learning activities.

The project is funded with support from the European Commission under the Erasmus+ Programme and has a duration of 24 months (1/11/2023-31/10/2025).
